What's Open and Closed in Royal Oak This Thanksgiving

City offices, grocery stores, the library, and others change their schedules for holiday week.

Are you staying in town this Thanksgiving? Here's everything you might need to know about what's open and when:

Grocery stores

Run out of cranberries during your Thanksgiving dinner? Need another can of pumpkin pie filling? Or, among all the hubbub, did you forget to buy milk last week? Don't fear, here's what will be open Thanksgiving Day:

  • Kroger, 6 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Hollywood Market, 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • Holiday Market, 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.
  • Northwood Marketplace, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Meijer, Open 24 hours

Around town

City Hall offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, reopening at 8 a.m. Monday. For any problems, contact the Royal Oak Police at 248-246-3500. The Royal Oak Fire Departmetn can be reached at 248-246-3800, but for an emergency (or fried turkey accidents), dial 911.

The Royal Oak Post Office will not be open Thanksgiving Day, nor will there be any mail delivery. The post office will be open Friday during normal business hours, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

The Royal Oak Public Library will be closed Thursday through Sunday. The library will reopen on Monday at 10 a.m.

The Detroit Zoo is also closed on Thanksgiving Day.

Lily’s Thanksgiving Feast

Lily's Seafood, 410 S. Washington Ave., will be open and serving Thanksgiving dinner from Noon-8 p.m.

The all-you-can-eat family style dinner is $25.99 for adults and $11.99 for kids 5-12 years. Seniors 65 and older enjoy a 10 percent discount and kids under 5 eat for free.
