A Tradition Matters Because It Can Make You Stand Up For Your Faith :)

A Tradition Matters Because It Can Make You Stand For Your Faith :)
When a child is between puberty and maturity sometimes the heart can not push the blood fast enough to get to the brain and that adolescent passes out (Neurocardiogenic Syncope). What is interesting if the adolescent places his or her hands together in front of the heart and presses fingers to fingers and palm to palm together the blood at the heart can reach the brain and helps the adolescent not to fall. What is interesting is that it looks like they are praying. The doctor says it is in churches often that people faint. See traditions matter :).
Mary:A young virgin who said yes to God. Gave God a human heart. Suffered as she stood beneath the cross of her Son and as His heart was beating it's last few beats for us He said to her as she was engaged in the suffering with Him and told her, Woman behold your son." And than to us God's members, Jesus looked at John, "Son behold your Mother."We have a Mother from the cross. As we sit in our crisis we can call out to our Mother.
“It is necessary to have recourse to the Virgin, because she can only bring you to God. That’s her whole mission. She has nothing of self in it at all. She lives only for God and to bring you to God,” said Marian expert Tim Tindal-Robertson during an Oct. 10 interview with CNA.

I live beside an Alley. Oddly it has many happy memories. My dear father, John Tierney created games and made awards for my brothers cousins and for me and sometimes friends and neighbors to play on Memorial Day and Labor Day and Dad would hand out the awards as we went up our porch steps while he played music upon his record player. The Alley was our own gym as we grew through the years. It is a ONE WAY Alley. A twenty foot plus wall comes up to the Alley and rest inches from the public sidewalk that runs on the Street. Which leaves no visibility. A bright red do not enter sign is hung at the other end; it use to be a dirt alley and few drove on it either way. Then having the Alley cemented by the city, traffic increased and a few went the wrong way. With a few hollers out like you were calling an ice cream truck to stop when we were kids with the words, "wrong way" and few would come down the wrong way again. It has become baffling now by more and more people have ignored the signs and we have several near misses. A dog was hit by a car on the nose; children almost hit on their bikes, my husband almost hit as he open our gate as the driver and passengers speed by laughing; a woman was taken in an ambulance one time. I still don't know what the whole story on that was but a minivan was over the side walk and had gone the wrong way. I hope she is well. I have spoken to police department, neighbors and near by businesses. It has not stopped. It makes my stomach sick at times and I alone will go into the Alley so the children don't get hit to trim the trees, grape vines, roses, lilacs and a vine with orange flowers that wants to take over the alley. It is baffling at times as with a woman going the wrong way while the moving van we had rented was parked in the alley while we unloaded several mattresses. None the less she continued down and told us to back the moving van in to traffic so she could leave. Baffling. She called the police too. Baffling. Such are our times. Mary Our Mother has asked us to listen to her Son. To do what ever He asks of us. To go the right way. Matthew 19:1-30.Live the Gospel of Life! Follow the Ten Commandments, love your neighbor as yourself, not everyone is called to marry. Some have started to twist these words. If you want to be treated kind, treat others kind. Do not force others how to run their business. Doesn't mean you can't give an idea but one shouldn't make a law to have them hire people you choose. Don't make laws telling others who to associate with. These laws are enslaving christens to this new "ism" cast out in the world. History will give it a name. A believer in the God incarnate; that we ourselves carry our living God within, is a gift to receive; building a new creation (a new us) within seeing  a glimpse of God's great love from the very beginning for each of us and to know He wants us all Home safe. Some of my children were watching a Stewart Little move last week and I sat with them and the song, "Alone Again, Naturally" was playing and the thought of what it looks like out west came to me; an arch of stone still standing made billions and billions of years ago and the lines on the water has left on the Grand Canyon and the thought that God made time, this land and waited for us and waited. As a parent you have to wait and that can be difficult as it can when we were children. God has this tremendous love sent out in his Word and His action and we are apart of this great love. In this little boundary of time He asks us to follow Him. The Living Water leaves a mark on us.  On October 5, 2013 my daughter Mary (6) showed me a picture out of her prayer book. She had picked the book out of the free books in a basket at the Adoration Chapel a few weeks ago. The picture she showed me was of Jesus on the Cross a painting done by Salvador Dali the painting is called Christ of St. John of the Cross. It is a sad and beautiful picture of God's great love for each of us. One can not help to think that Jesus The Son of The Living God hangs for us as we hang in the balance on Earth by our choices and to come sit on his boat and hear His teachings. By seeing this picture and knowing who the artist is, it reminded me of a story my cousin Joey told about Salvador Dali; my cousin's father in-law was repeatedly asked by Salvador Dali to pose for his painting and he finally did. I believe it is the picture that shows Columbus representing Christ bringing the true church and salvation to the new world or it maybe the one with Columbus on the shore with others from his ship and the Native People. I will have to ask him again. I told the story to Mary and we searched on the web for the other pictures. What a great gift the web can be.   It would behoove us to take a moment to look at what mere mortals with God have accomplished by faith. Yes the works of mercy, churches, hospitals, schools, orphanages ect ect ect but what it all started with a family for God. Brothers and Sisters for Christ, working to help the every day and the day we leave this world for God's Home. We take our faith where ever we go; what ever we do; what ever we own; where ever we live!It is good and wise to understand that people of faith have sacrificed much. My own Grandfather sang a song in his home country of Ireland and was told he was to go to prison or America. He. Chose The United States of America. Land of The Free and Home of The Brave. He fought for his new country in World War II. Freedom's. Think how we have become an inside out world in the last 40 plus years. Each generation is losing an innocents. I give the Blessed Mother credit for the name of blog and being my Mother :) . I asked her for a name and the thought catacombs came to mind. I looked up the official definition and recalling how the early followers found refuge. Thanks Mom :)May The Lord bless you. Enjoy the catacombs in your own life...we all need a refuge...seek The Truth.
