Useful Apps for Interior Designers

In today’s world, no matter where you seem to be, no matter your profession, your iPhone or android is always close at hand. Various apps to assist and navigate through your everyday activities are the norm.

Below are a few simple and helpful apps for not only interior designers and architects, but also for DIYers working on a home project.

·         Photomeasures (iPhone, iPad)/ D-Photo Measures (Android) – offers an easy way to save measurements on your own photos. Best of all, this app is free! Simply import a picture, or take a picture on the fly, and the app will convert finger-drawn lines into dimension lines for you to add the measurement; leaving you with a easy to reference image right on your smartphone.

·         ConvertPad – converts dimensions easily and quickly. Not only can it serve as a basic calculator but it converts unit of measure such as length, area and volume. This is a handy tool when it comes to figuring out how many square yards of carpet you need to purchase when the dimensions of your room are in feet!

·         Handy Level - provides you with a level directly on your iPhone or android for free!  This is the perfect app for home decoration, picture alignment, etc.  Handy Level is one of five apps in the iHandy Carpenter tool kit. The complete tool kit, which is available for purchase, includes a plumb bob, surface level, bubble level bar, steel protractor, and even a steel ruler.
