Attention Golfers: Jess Perreca Sr. Memorial Christmas Classic Set for Sept 7th

Growing up in a family where the holiday season was always about giving, I would find out who Santa really was at an early age.

By the time I turned 7 years old I would know that Santa was make believe. (I know still debatable for some)

When I was a kid growing up, I was helping my father with the Royal Oak Christmas Classic that was run through the Boys & Girls Club of South Oakland County. It was then that curiosity would simply get the best of me to ask my father "Why do we have to put together all these gift baskets and wrap all these toys if Santa does it all?"

It was then that my father would simply let me know the true meaning of giving. For him the true meaning of the Holiday Spirit.

My father's Christmas consisted of the Good Fellows delivering Christmas each and every year to his home. It was then that when he became older that he promised himself that he would do everything in his power to give back.

My father with the help of many other volunteers was the man behind and in front of the scenes of putting together all the Christmas Baskets for nearly 200+ needy family's before passing on in 2008 to pancreatic cancer.

The program is still running to this day as my dad would have wanted it to.

In his honor they've named the yearly Golf Outing Fundraiser.

The Jess Perreca Sr. Memorial Christmas Classic.

This fundraiser helps to put food baskets and gifts in family's homes that need the extra help during the holiday season. Please help us make sure that no family will go without this holiday season.

The 2012 Jess Perreca, Sr. Memorial Royal Oak Christmas Classic will be on September 7, 2012 with Lunch @ 11:30 am and a shotgun start @ 12:30pm.
