Every Home Can Have a Wrap Station

Everything you need to know about how to set up a wrap station

Whether you are in apartment, condo or home- when the big wrapping fest comes (and it is soon) you need to be organized if you are going to get it done.

Having your supplies stocked and handy makes all the difference. Here you can see I made a Wrap Station out of a small closet.

The stacking shelves were from Home Depot- plastic and you could put it together with just a good shove. The rolling rack that holds wrapping paper is from an art supply store- this rack is typically used by architects to hold their design prints. This is easy to move to wherever I'm going to wrap.

The blue cutting mat is typically found in the sewing area of a craft store- or in the scrapbook section. It is self healing for cutting on- the blocks by inches are helpful for cutting. It is also a great work surface. Comes in all different sizes and colors- best buy is when they go on sale or you can use a coupon. I bought my first one to extend the width of my ironing board so I could use that to wrap on- because you can adjust an ironing board to sit or stand.

The middle of the stacking shelves holds a caddy that I use to throw my supplies, like tape, scissors, hole punch, measuring tape, chenille stems (for tying ribbon bows), blank cards for making tags with leftover scraps of paper, glue stick, calligraphy or other types of colored pens or pencils.

Top shelf has my favorite spinner holder for ribbons or wraphia rolls. It's got a handle so I can carry it wherever I plan to work.

I'm a big advocate of clear storage bins to hold ribbons, paper scraps., etc. as it allow you to quickly see what you have on hand. Plus I try to buy them when they go on sale- so I have a mishmash of sizes and colors. If that's the case, I have a label to say what's in there. Still use this system in my store- makes it easy to keep your storage neat and tidy.
