“We have a piece of property near Bembridge and Essex that we want to use,” said Maryanne VanHaitsma.  “We would like to have a bench and a plaque for Nancy.”

A landscaper who lives in the subdivision has volunteered to come up with a design, VanHaitsma said. To date neighbors have collected $700.

“We are still figuring out logistics,” VanHaitsma said. “We have volunteers to do things like weeding. The challenge will be watering.”

The group hopes to plant the garden in the fall.
