Best Drug Rehabilitation Helps Raise Funds for Drug Free Detroit

Per Wickstrom, the CEO of holistic treatment facilities including Best Drug Rehabilitation, recently joined forces with Mack Alive’s Partnership for a Drug Free Detroit in honoring four metro Detroiters who have made a significant contribution to their communities and helped raise awareness of substance addiction solutions.

The special fundraising event, which was attended by over 250 guests at Ford Field’s Hall of Legends on June 8, 2013, honored: Greg K. Monroe, Detroit Piston and founder of the Greg K. Monroe Foundation; Alberta Tinsley Talabi, State Representative and Mack Alive founder; Michael Curis, Sr., President Curis Enterprises; and Lem Barney, former Detroit Lion and NFL Hall of Famer.

The occasion was co-hosted by Dan Miller, the play-by-play announcer of the Detroit Lions and Fox 2 sports anchor, and Bankole Thompson, senior editor of the Michigan Chronicle. It also welcomed esteemed Host Committee members, including: former Detroit Lions Herman Moore, Rob Rubick, Corey Schlesinger, Mel Farr and Ron Rice; eight-time World Champion boxer Tommy “The Hitman” Hearns; former Detroit Piston coach and player Ray Scott; and former New England Patriot Ricky Bryant.

“What this unique event celebrated was the critical truth that, despite all of the challenges we face as individuals, families, communities and a nation, drug and alcohol abuse and addiction is a solvable problem,” commented Per Wickstrom. “And that solution is to take a comprehensive approach to addiction treatment and drug rehab that empowers clients to experience complete health that embraces body, mind and spirit.”

Added Mr. Wickstrom: “There is nothing greater than having a positive effect on our community’s children. They are the most important investment we can make to ensure our society’s future is great. As a group, we must educate our kids daily about the dangers of addiction, help heal those that are experiencing the complications of drug or alcohol abuse and give children the ability -- the tools -- to stay strong and stay off drugs and alcohol.
