Boys & Girls Club Supporters VOTE FOR KIDS

Annual acution raises thousands of dollars for kids.

As this political season heats up with national and local elctions highlightig the different beliefs and platforms, there is one issue on which we can all agree - Supporting The Boys and Girls Club of South Oakland County.

Last Saturday night hundreds of our friends and neighbors turned out at Red Run Country Club to " Vote for Kids ". That was the theme of the annual auction event that included a strolling dinner as well as several raffle items and silent auction table gifts. Guests were greeted by MC George Gomez and had the chance to place thier bids on the many fine items generously donated by supporters. Choices included autographed sports memorabilia, lunch with the Mayor and tickets to sporting events. Table raffle items included restaurant gift cards and jewelry. A few guests decided to dress in the spirit of the season and a good time was had by all.

The highlight of the night was the live auction with former club Chariman of the Board Tom Violante Jr acting as acutioneer. The bidding was intense for the many wonderful items including a golf trip to Ireland and a wine weekend in San Francisco. An always popular auction item is a live puppy who is conveniently paraded around the room as the bidding gets serious. This years puppy found a good home with current Chamber of Commerce President, Howard Collens.
