Lois Moore, 85, Remembered for Smiling Irish Eyes

Mother of six died in her Royal Oak home Thursday surrounded by family.

Lois Moore passed away on Sept. 20 in her home, with her family.

Born Lois Therese Flanigan in 1927 in Atlantic City, Mrs. Moore was born with her Irish eyes smiling and they continued to shine brightly throughout her life.

She, along with her husband Jim who passed away in 2007, lived in Royal Oak since 1950.

What do you get when you put a Moore and Flanigan together? An Irish family with six kids, a bunch of grandkids and a lifetime of laughter, love and stories. Lots of stories.

As you can see in the photograph of the Moores, they both have those smiling Irish eyes and so do their kids. Mrs. Moore was a lovely and wonderful person who will be missed by all.

The wake is Tuesday, Sept. 25. from 1-9 p.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Sons Funeral Home in Royal Oak and the funeral is Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Peter Donahue, a long time family friend of the Moores.  That's a lot of Irish names!

This obituary was written by Gerry Boylan, a longtime friend (more than 40 years) of Mike and Jackie Bell Moore.
