Women FOR Proposal A Mail Piece

The campaign FOR Proposal A has released a new mail piece today featuring women of Royal Oak.

“It’s beyond belief that in 2013, right here in Royal Oak, it is legal to fire someone from their job or deny them housing just because they are gay or transgender. It’s not right and it’s not Royal Oak,” said Laura Harrison, owner of The Ladybug Shoppe.

On March 4, 2013 the Royal Oak City Commission voted 6-1 to adopt a Human Rights Ordinance that would ban discriminatory practices in employment, housing, and public accommodation on the basis of actual or perceived race, national origin, religion, color, sex, age, height, weight, pregnancy condition, marital status, physical and mental limitations, source of income, family responsibilities, educational association, sexual orientation, gender identity, and HIV status.
