Who can oppose Ellison 4 mayor?
Some good reasons we need to start looking for a new mayor now. The rumor is that he may want to move up with a real job next time around.
Posting this on Easter was probably a mistake, but does anyone agree that this city could use a new start, a new direction, or does the future hold only just more of the same ol, same ol. See my last blog.
Meanwhile, if you agree that RO's city hall needs an enema, especially after a shameful handing over of a THREE MILLION dollar/ ten year abatement ostensibly to benefit the CBD by the DDA all without consulting the voters an ad hoc committee should be formed in order to find a more resident co-operative replacement. The new charter could not legally replace the old one immediately, but one of its most valuable changes would be to provide a livable salary commensurate with providing us with a choice of more than one candidate for the very important position of mayor.
PS- I predict that the multi-million dollar to 400 Main (former Fresard) abatement gift will not be a benefit but rather a scandalous liability when it finally becomes apparent there is not enough parking to go around for all the DDA wanted 400 Main to cram on the former Fresard already operating as a parking lot that often fills up on any weekend due to overflow from EMagine and Hamlin.
One more question not covered in the news is whether 400 Main finally received a 100% commitment from a branded hotel, and what will BE the name of this "hotel"? I only bring this up as the whole deal is supposed to hinge on a nationally branded hotel. Ahem!
