The following letter was sent to Royal Oak Patch by former Royal Oak City Commissioner and Mayor Patricia Paruch:
I am proud to support Derek Meinecke for Judge of Royal Oak's 44th District Court.
Royal Oak has been blessed over the years to have elected judges with uncompromising integrity. I was fortunate enough to work with a number of them in my years at City Hall. Derek will be an honorable addition to that roster. Derek's passion for bringing justice and fairness to victims of crimes and their families, which he has so ably demonstrated during his years with the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office, will serve the Royal Oak community very well.
Derek believes that effective intervention by a district court at the initial stages of criminal behavior can prevent criminals from continuing down the wrong path. Derek is committed to working at the local level to keep our community safe for both his family and the larger Royal Oak Family for years to come. Derek's focus on building a strong community by having an engaged court and one that is free from divisive politics is another reason he has my wholehearted support.
I look forward to welcoming Derek Meinecke to the ranks of elected officials who have been honored to serve the Royal Oak community and its citizens.
