Prop A- Who is it for?

Prop A

Not to get caught up in the alphabet soup of various groups for and against Proposal A, I would like to point out that this is not about religion, although it does affect those with strong religious beliefs. This proposal is about people, regardless what their personal beliefs or lifestyles may be, as long as they do not force them on me. That being said I cannot see this proposal being good for anyone. It sets up a special class of laws for people who are no better or worse than any other person. Simply because they are not what is termed “heterosexual” does not make them a victim. In the late ‘70s when affirmative action came into vogue I was turned down for jobs because, (1) I was male and (2) I was Caucasian/Non-Native American (got to love CA.). Now it’s because I am in my 60’s.  I cannot hide who I am, and I do not expect anybody else to hide who they are. Discrimination in any form is wrong, but it is a mindset. This ordinance if passed will only push it underground. Education is more important and stronger than any attempt at forcing morality through legal dictate.
