Readers' Choice: Young's is Best Asian Food in Oakland County

Young's Chinese Food Carry Out in Royal Oak beat out nine other restaurants and carryouts, based on reviews and ratings.

Almond chicken is a customer favorite from in Royal Oak, but the broccoli chicken and chicken fried rice get some love, too, for Patch readers' favorite place to get Asian food in Oakland County.

Nine five-star reviews earned Young's the top spot , based on reviews and ratings by readers.

"Been getting food here since it opened," Gay Thacker wrote in a review on . "Love it! Always consistently good food. My favorite is sesame chicken, egg rolls and hot & sour soup."

Suzanne Fisher writes: "The only negative about Youngs is that they're not open 7 days a week to satisfy my cravings!"

Indeed, Young's is open until 11 p.m. every day except Monday, when the carryout is closed.

Runner-up to Young's was , a Chinese carryout on Telegraph at Long Lake in Bloomfield Township. Owner Gene Wong's seven-day-a-week carryout earned three five-star ratings this week, with one customer saying, "Love this place. Best Chinese food around. Orders are prepared quickly, and the portion sizes are generous."

The 10 restaurants in this week's competition were chosen by Patch readers in 10 separate Patch sites, from Lake Orion in northern Oakland County to Ferndale south and across to Bloomfield and West Bloomfield.

"We're very honored to win," said Yemen Yang, daughter of the owner, Yong M. Yang. "Our customers are very loyal."
