Snow emergency

On New years day I worked 16 hours, I cleaned my car off and drove home. i decided to park on the street until I could shovel my driveway. I go in the house to change out of my scrubs, not the best clothes to shovel snow I step back outside 15 minutes later to a ticket on my car. yes I know there was a snow emergency, you could tell my car was not parked on the street  for a long time it was still warm and my front door was open. So before anyone tells me they think  I deserved the ticket. I want to ask how would you feel if you just parked the car on the street after  working 16 hours not to leave it there for the night, but only long enough to shovel the snow.
