Undecided Voters: What Are You Waiting For?

As Election Day 2012 draws closer, we want to hear from undecided voters around Michigan.

While most voters have already made up their minds whether they want to re-elect President Barack Obama or cast their ballots in favor of former Gov. Mitt Romney, about 7 percent of the likely voting population remains undecided, according to the Huffington Post.

It’s that undecided group we want to reach out to in Michigan. We’d like to hear from those of you who remain unsure which way you’ll go on Nov. 6.

Here are our questions for you: What has prevented you from making up your mind so far? Is there a particular issue or stand on an issue you’re waiting to hear more from the candidates about? What would make you favor one candidate over another?

Maybe you're passionate about the economy and haven't heard a plan that resonates yet? Perhaps you want a candidate to be more outspoken about climate change? Or, are you still trying to decide which front runner is most likely to make positive changes in America?

Whatever the case, we want to hear your opinions. Sound off on why you're still undecided in the comments section below.

FH, are you talking about the taxed pensions that all other states already tax, and only MI is the exception? Don't like taxed pensions, well, since everyone else taxes them, the gravy train is over. No need to peep. No money was stolen from education, it was just Obamaized, I mean 'redistributed' to a more useful endeavor which brings in more jobs and gives new grads a place to work. We can see in Detroit how all that extra ed money is really making their kids smart.
Romney at least has a 5 point plan, Obama had 4 years , and with an initial majority in the House and Senate to pass some plans, but gosh, he just couldn't come up with one that his own party would agree with. Romney's plan would also make your tax rate on estate and capital gains zero as well. So what? Not smart enough to have an estate? No investments to create capital gains? Why not.? Lazy? Just because some folk have no interest in providing for their future , creating wealth, and receiving perks associated with same, does not mean I have to be their caretaker and be denied the those same perks. Govt does not exist to 'coddle' us. Regarding Obamacare, however the penalties work out, they are detrimental to hiring folk, and will force employees to spend money on healthcare via the govt, is that what you want? Transferring costs to employees for healthcare? I don't mind not paying healthcare anymore. Making car parts is fine by me. Employees won't like it though.

"No balanced budget, spending out of control, you know the lists, why should we , as taxpayers, pay for the govt ineptness?"
I agree and that's why I voted against GWBush, twice.
Lee Jacobsen October 17, 2012 at 06:30 pm
RLB, time to use your commonsense again, and vote out Obama who was much worse than Bush in all aspects. Otherwise you are not being true to your values, and risk being a hypocrite.
RLB III October 17, 2012 at 06:59 pm
What great insight.
I only have to sell myself to the altar of Republicanism to find salvation from hypocrisy! Sorry, Lee, Baby, I see Republicanism as a permanent lie designed to hide the wishes of a few wacko billionaires who think that a deity anointed them with money. At least I've been told that when I worked at the Bohemian Grove and burning Care in effigy..

RLB ... you would probably find a lot in common with some of the loafers who hang around my warehouse in Detroit. Yesterday's conversation. "Going to watch the debate? "What debate? "Who are you going to vote for?" Obama! Why? He's a black man like us. He pays our disability...laughter.......What's that? Liver disease.....can you buy me a beer?"
These 3 clowns love Obama because, according to them, he is black like them, pays them not to work, pays for their drinking which got them disability in the first place, and also subsidizes their housing. The only other income they have is the one dollar I give them to possibly watch my place each month. This is why Detroit and the altar of the Dems is in trouble. No incentive to get a job, no incentive to do anything but watch me work, earn money , and pay taxes to support them. They are definitely part of the 47% and I suspect you are too.. The Dems have shown what they can do with Detroit, and it is pathetic. A welfare city, and the citizens like it that way, give me that Obama money!!

Romney protested FOR the Viet Nam war, but found it too difficult to sign up and serve.
RLB III October 18, 2012 at 12:45 am
Yes, TriCare is SOCIALIZED medicine! LOL!
RLB III October 18, 2012 at 12:49 am
@MC RET
"Master chief petty officer is the ninth, and highest, enlisted rate (paygrade E-9) in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard, just above senior chief petty officer."
RLB III October 18, 2012 at 12:50 am
HAHAHAHAHAHA! Nugent is like, ancient!
RLB III October 18, 2012 at 12:52 am
You smell like a racist.
Master Chief RET October 18, 2012 at 12:58 am
RLB111 Your wrong again their are 2 other pay grade over and E-9 and if you don't know what they are shut your pie hole.
Ray Smith October 18, 2012 at 12:59 am
The November decision is easy: If you're among the wealthy, Romney is your man --after all, they are his constituency. If you're poor or in the middle class, Obama has your back. What's more, when you vote for Romney, you are saying yes to:
1. A $5 trillion tax cut (skewed mostly to the wealth) that Romney cannot possibly pay for without exploding the deficit or raising taxes on the middle class. 2. $2 trillion in spending for the Pentagon on weapons they neither asked for or want. 3. More pollution to our environment, when Romney rolls back EPA regulations. 4. More high-rolling/gambling on Wall Street (which contributed to our economic disaster) when Romney repeals Dodd-Frank. If, like Romney, you think these policies are good for our country, you need to have your head examined.
RLB III October 18, 2012 at 01:25 am
That's directly from the navy web site. Let me help you with your grammar:
"RLB III: You're wrong again; there are two other pay grades above E-9. If you don't know that, shut your 'pie hole.'"
RLB III October 18, 2012 at 01:33 am
You know, this country has lost its revolutionary bearings.
At one time it fought to be independent of royalty and the control of men of inherited wealth and titles. No more. Now we have people flailing praise on the equivalent, the super rich, and are willing to ignore the truth in the hopes that a few gold pieces will make it into their pockets.
Master Chief RET October 18, 2012 at 01:37 am
RLB III Gee, you actually read the web site, but you did not read all of it. The two other grades are CMMs and MCPON. Figure out what that is.
RLB III October 18, 2012 at 01:49 am
I agree with Thomas, Master Illiterate!
Lee Jacobsen October 18, 2012 at 02:25 am
RLB, you are just jealous that wealth achievement is apparently beyond your grade level , as you don't seem to mind that your taxes are going up. Conclusion? You don't pay taxes. Try working for some wealth instead of living off the wealth of others. Eventually you may even get beyond the 47% grade level and pay some Federal taxes. Don't feel like the tax rate is high enough? You can always donate money to the govt to pay down the National Debt and help out your man Obama. When Romney wins, somehow I doubt you will complain when more money is left in your pocket. Now...time for one of your witty short comments that mean nothing.
RLB III October 18, 2012 at 02:30 am
How 'bout this, Lee? GFY.
Lee Jacobsen October 18, 2012 at 02:48 am
RLB III...... GFY.....Good For You.......how polite , considerate, and thoughtful...

Wow! This "conversation" is all over the place. I respectfully wish to bring it back to some points closer to the discussion as it began:
1. China (and Japan) do own the most of the foreign part of our debt. But the large majority is owned by US corporations (insurance companies), government agencies such as the Social Security Fund, the FDIC and any of us that hold Treasury Bonds. The "borrowing from China" is very misleading- at the least. 2. Federal funding of abortions was made illegal by a law of Congress well before Obama was elected. During the last of the Affordable Care Act, the Michigan Rep from the Upper Penninsula insisted on redundant assurances be given that this prohibition would be upheld. It is. 3. I know that many men see that there is a war on women. But many men don't along with some women. Maybe you have to actually experiece it. I know Lily Ledbetter has. Maybe it took the whole personhood, must not take the pill argue ment or all the Republican State Legislatures' actions to get women riled up about having power over their bodies, but we are also getting concussions hitting our heads on glass ceilings. 4. The President's Promisanes: I remember from Civics classes that the President is the Executive Branch. He can't deliver when anything. he proposes gets fillibustered. McConnell's goal was to make sure he did not get reelected- regardless with what playing poliics for 4 years would do to the country.
mike t. October 18, 2012 at 10:03 am
Your right I think Romney's policies will be better, but I know Obama's policy are not good
Master Chief RET October 18, 2012 at 10:18 am
You are Thomas my sources say you changed your name to avoid all this negative thinking.
Master Chief RET October 18, 2012 at 10:20 am
Lee you can not argue with stupid.
Dennis October 18, 2012 at 01:07 pm
Agreed. Obama saved the head and let the body die. "REAL" unemployed numbers are much closer to 25-30% if you include those that found other/underemployment opportunities, dropped out of the workforce, were "forced" into early retirement, etc. Bringing a couple 1000 new $9/hr jobs is NOT a recovery. We need a businessman to fix the USA's business (economy). Period. The one-term wonder Senator had his chance... hope and change... I hope we change Presidents.
Dennis October 18, 2012 at 01:14 pm
Duke... you define "stopped the bleeding" as adding $1T/yr? Remember GWB had a Dem Congress approving the spending. Is a legit BC so hard to produce? I must do it just to register my kids for sports!! Surely the POTUS could... or not.
Dennis October 18, 2012 at 01:32 pm
HRP had it right in '92 and is still right 20 yrs later.
Dennis October 18, 2012 at 01:40 pm
