Pothole pledge Without Royal Oak
We all see how bad the roads are now that spring is here and the ground is thawing out and the snow is gone from the roads (at least in most places locally)
The potholes are bad; not just along major roads, but side streets as well.
There are 10 cities that have taken a pledge to fix potholes in their city within 48-72 hours by calling a local number.
So here is my question in this matter:
How come Royal Oak chooses not to be part of this?
I know they want to claim that they don't have adequate funding, but I am sure any of the other cities who have pledged to be part of the solution to the problem face funding issues as well.
Here is a list of the cities that have taken the pothole pledge so far.
- Sterling Heights: (586-446-2489)
- Warren: (586-574-4584)
- Southfield: (248-796-4000)
- Farmington Hills (248 871-2850)
- Rochester Hills: (248-656-4685)
- Berkley: (248-658-3490)
- Livonia: (734-466-2640)
- Westland: (734-713-3877)
- Romulus: (734-942-7579)
- Taylor: (734-287-6550)
- Madison Heights: (248-589-2294)
- Ann Arbor: (734-794-6368)
- Milan: (734-439-1501)
- Oak Park (248-691-7497)
- Birmingham (248-530-1700)
- Troy (248-524-3392)
If you are in any one of these cities and hit a pothole please call them and let them know about it so they can at least make an attempt to improve their roads. I wish Royal oak would take a cue from their surrounding neighbors and do the same.
