5 things you should know about the West Nile Virus

1. Most people do not have symptoms-4 out of 5

2. 1 of 5 will have summer flu like symptoms plus rash. There are confirmatory blood tests.

3. Very Very small percentage have acute life threatening problems or after the fact residual medical issues.

4. There are ways to minimize mosquito bites

5. If you see dead birds around, West Nile Virus could be in your area. Contact the county health authorities
