Alleged Flasher Gives Starbucks Customers an Eyeful

Royal Oak police said Dionne Harris, 41, of Detroit led them through residential neighborhoods before he was finally apprehended and charged with exposing himself and fleeing and eluding.

A man who allegedly exposed himself to customers inside a Royal Oak coffee shop Sunday has been arrested.

Police were called to the Starbucks coffee shop at 300 S. Main at 10:11 a.m. Sunday to investigate complains that the man was exposing himself, according to a news release. When they arrived, the suspect – later identified as Dionne Harris, 41, of Detroit – ran out of the business, entered a parked vehicle and fled southbound on Main Street.

Police officers began pursuit, but Harris attempted to evade authorities through residential neighborhoods. He was finally apprehended in the 300 block of E. Parent and taken into custody and arrested on charges of second-degree fleeing and eluding, punishable by up to 10 years in jail, and indecent exposure, punishable by up to one year in jail.

Harris was arraigned before Judge Terrance Brennan in 44th District Court on Tuesday. His bond was set at $20,000. He’s due in court again on July 11.

Police said Harris has previous convictions of fleeing and eluding a police officer, carrying a concealed weapon felony firearms, felony possession of a controlled substance and retail fraud.
