Drunken Man Stumbles into Wrong House

Copper wire, kerosene heater and more stolen


1200 block of S. Lafayette, Feb. 2 –Feb. 3, 6 p.m. – 2 p.m.: The complainant reported someone broke into the vacant home through the rear door. The person stole 50 feet of copper wire, a kerosene heater, a propane heater and miscellaneous tools.
Cell phone stolen

110 S. Main (Leo’s Coney Island), Feb. 15, 2:15 a.m.: A woman reported she left her cell phone in the restroom. When she returned to the restroom to retrieve her phone she discovered someone stole it.

Acts of vandalism


1815 N. Main (Luna Bar), Feb. 13, 1 a.m. – 2 a.m.: A man reported he parked his vehicle in the south parking lot of the business. When he returned he discovered someone broke the rear windshield and keyed the hood and both sides of his car.

E. Lincoln and Troy (Royal Oak Ford Storage Lot), Feb. 17 –Feb. 19, noon – 9:30 a.m.: An employee of Royal Oak Ford reported someone broke the rear windshield of a vehicle parked in the storage lot.

117 W. Third Street (Hour Magazine),Feb. 17, 8:59 a.m.: A Royal Oak officer observed graffiti spray painted on the east wall of the business.

300 block of S. Main, Feb. 17, 7:48 a.m.: A Royal Oak officer observed graffiti spray painted on the west side of the building.

W. Sixth Street and Center, Feb. 17, 7:48 a.m.: A Royal Oak officer observed graffiti spray painted on a parking lot sign.

Intoxicated man damages apartment door


1700 block of Gardenia, Feb. 15, 5:50 a.m.: Officers responded to a report of someone kicking an apartment door. When the officers arrived they observed a highly intoxicated man sitting next to the damaged door. The resident of the apartment did not know the man. He was arrested for malicious destruction of property and disorderly conduct without incident.

 

Drunken man stumbles into wrong house 


500 block of E. Farnum,Feb. 16, 2:27 a.m.: A Royal Oak resident heard someone outside on the east side of his home banging on the exterior wall. When he went to investigate he observed a man walk up to the front entrance and open the storm door. The resident opened the entry door and the man walked into the residence. The homeowner yelled for the man to stop but he continued into the home. The homeowner tackled the man and held him until police arrived on the scene.

The suspect was arrested for disorderly conduct and entering without permission. He was highly intoxicated and went to the wrong house.
