Ex-Royal Oak High School Principal Back in Court on Monday

Michael Greening, who faces two felony embezzlement charges, is due in 44th District Court for a preliminary exam conference.

Former  Principal Michael Greening is due back in court Monday on.

At a previous hearing at the  in Royal Oak on June 22, Greening’s attorney, Paul Stablein, told Judge Daniel Sawicki that he needed more time to go over thousands of pages of documents related to the case and interview witnesses before the examination, and the hearing was postponed until 9 a.m. on Aug 6.

Stablein declined comment to Royal Oak Patch.

Greening, who is alleged to have taken between $2,000 and up to $40,000 from the school's student activities funds, .

Royal Oak's school board voted June 14 to continue to . Moll has served as interim principal since in December for "the possibility of financial irregularities in student activities funds."

If Greening is convicted, the longtime Royal Oak resident faces up to five years in prison and/or a fine of $10,000 or three times the amount embezzled, whichever is greater, for each charge.
