Hammer Used In Assault, Golf Club Used to Break Windshield and More on Police Blotter

Highlights from Royal Oak Police Department reports from the past week:

Man breaks out vehicle windows with golf club

4600 block of Rosewold, Mar. 10: A man reported he had a verbal dispute with an intoxicated acquaintance. The subject then broke out the rear windshield of two vehicles with a golf club and fled the area.

Man assaults former landlord with hammer

400 block of Fairgrove, Mar. 12: A man reported a former tenant assaulted him with a hammer in his driveway over a monetary dispute. The suspect fled the area before officers arrived. The victim suffered minor injuries

Home invasion 

2800 block of Woodward, Mar. 8: A woman reported someone entered her motel room and stole prescription medication, her identification and an undisclosed amount of currency.

2300 block of Starr, Mar. 12: A man reported someone entered his unlocked residence and stole his wallet, miscellaneous credit cards, a Canon digital camera, a Fuji digital camera, and an undisclosed amount of currency.

Tires, catalytic converter stolen from vehicles

2100 block of Parmenter, Mar. 12: A man reported someone stole the rims and tires off of his vehicle.

2400 block of Barrett, Mar. 11: A woman reported someone stole the catalytic converter off of her vehicle.

Jewelry, furniture, laptop stolen

4300 block of Arden Place, Mar. 8: A woman reported a former cleaning service employee stole miscellaneous jewelry from her residence.

1812 N. Main (National Coney Island), Mar. 8:  A man reported a cab driver took his car keys and an undisclosed amount of currency from his pocket after dropping him off at the restaurant. 

100 block of N. Minerva, Mar. 7: A man reported his girlfriend forged and cashed one of his bank checks and stole an undisclosed amount of currency.

500 block of Devillen, Mar. 13: A woman reported someone stole miscellaneous furniture and other property she left unattended in her driveway.

1016 W. 11 Mile (YMCA), Mar. 13:  A man reported someone broke into his locker and stole his wallet.

600 block of Irving, Mar. 12: A woman reported an acquaintance stole her lap top computer from her residence. 

Malicious damage to property

300 block of N. Campbell, Mar. 10: A woman reported there was a prowler or an intoxicated friend in her back yard. Royal Oak officers responded and located an intoxicated subject standing near the residence and detained him. The victim dated the subject for a short time and broke off the relationship. Further investigation revealed the subject damaged the victim’s privacy fence. The subject was arrested for malicious destruction of property and disorderly conduct. 

4200 block of Crooks, Mar. 10: A man reported someone damaged the entry door to the common areas of an apartment building.

4000 block of Auburn, Mar. 9: A woman reported someone damaged her vehicle. The suspect smashed eggs, poured dirt, and let the air out of one of her tires.

500 block of Hendrie, Mar. 14: A man reported someone broke out the rear windshield of his vehicle. 

300 block of N. Main, Mar. 8: A man reported someone spray painted graffiti on an exterior wall of the building.

Cars stolen

5000 block of Mansfield, Mar. 10: A man reported someone stole his Gold 2003 Dodge Stratus.

5000 block of Mansfield, Mar. 10: A woman reported someone attempted to steal her Blue 2002 Chrysler Sebring.
