Indecent Exposure; Punched Out and Bricked Down

Here is a rundown of recent crime reports from the Royal Oak Police Department.

Highlights from Royal Oak Police reports from March 4-Friday:

  • At 3:15 p.m. Thursday, a man reported that while he was washing his hands in the men’s restroom inside Lindell Ice Arena, 1403 Lexington Blvd., an unknown man stepped to the restroom sink next to him and began performing a sexual act on himself. The witness immediately left the restroom and notified authorities. The suspect is described as in his 30s with dark hair worn in a long, brush-cut style with a beard. He was wearing a dark hoodie with writing on it, camouflage pants and brown hunting boots.
  • A man called police at 4:30 p.m. Monday to report that he was hit in the head by a brick and punched on the side of the head as he walked in the area of Farnum and Oakridge. According to the police report, when he regained his senses, the victim saw an unknown man running away southbound toward 11 Mile Road. He described the suspect as 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds and wearing a green to gray jacket “and is being described as dirty.”
  • A complainant reported at 6 p.m. March 3 that her red 2003 Ford Taurus was stolen from the 1800 block of Chester. According to the police report, there were no signs of forced entry.
  • At 5 p.m. March 6, a complainant reported that an unknown suspect had smashed the passenger-side window of his vehicle, which was parked in the lot at Williams and Third streets, and had stolen a purse. In a separate incident at 3 a.m. Feb. 26, another man had reported that an unknown suspect had smashed the driver's side window his 2009 Jeep Cherokee and had stolen the in-dash GPS system. The jeep was parked in the 1200 block of North Blair.
  • At 9:30 p.m. March 4, a complainant reported that when he exited his home in the 1200 block of Millard, he saw four young men rummaging through his vehicle parked in the driveway. According to the police report, he confronted the suspects, and they ran away. The complainant was able to recover items that were stolen from another incident. Nothing was stolen from his vehicle.
  • A woman reported at 5 p.m. March 6 that her wallet was stolen from her purse while she was inside Blackfinn, 530 S. Main.
  • At 2:30 p.m. Monday, a complainant called police to report that an unknown woman who entered an employee-only area of the Salvation Army Thrift Store, 114 E. Fourth St., had stolen her wallet. The suspect is described as a 20-year-old woman, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 145 pounds and wearing a brown bomber jacket, blue jeans and carrying a purple purse.
  • A complainant reported that his locker was broken into on two occasions between 3 p.m. Feb. 23 and 4 p.m. March 4 at the YMCA, 1016 W. 11 Mile Rd. A cell phone, iPod Touch, camera and credit cards were stolen. According to police, there are no suspects, and there were no signs of forced entry.
  • A 22-year-old resident living in the 2000 block of North Campbell overdosed on heroin around 4:10 p.m. Wednesday. The Royal Oak Fire Department was able to resuscitate the resident. The resident was then transported to St. John’s Oakland Hospital for further treatment.
