Man Punches Glass Door at Burger Joint, Fight at OCC and More

Highlights from Royal Oak Police Department reports from the past week:

Man punches glass door at burger joint

201 W. Fourth Street (Little Brother’s Burgers), Sept. 21: The restaurant reported a man punched the glass entry door breaking it. The man is described as white, mid 20s, 6-feet tall, thin muscular build, short brown hair, wearing a tan shirt and green shorts. The man fled the area on foot.

Motel check results in arrest

29806 Woodward (Palms Motel), Sept. 26: Royal Oak officers conducted a motel check and arrested a person registered at the motel who had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

Police assist with fight at OCC

739 S. Washington (Oakland Community College),  8:30 a.m. Sept. 26: Royal Oak police officers responded to the Oakland Community College to assist an Oakland Community College police officer involved in a physical altercation with a special needs student. 

Royal Oak police officers arrived on the scene and assisted with securing the student. The Oakland Community College police officer suffered minor injuries during the altercation and was transported to William Beaumont Hospital for treatment.

Appliances taken from vacant house

3300 block of Cummings, Sept. 23: A person reported someone broke into the vacant home and stole a Kenmore refrigerator, Kitchen Aid microwave, Kitchen Aid stove, a washer and dryer.

1900 block of Clawson, Sept. 22: A person reported someone broke into the unlocked detached garage. Nothing was taken.

Gym bag, UPS packages and more taken

25352 Woodward (L.A. Fitness), Sept. 23: A man reported someone stole a gym bag from his locker.

1711 N. Main (Burger King), Sept. 22: The store reported a man approached the register requesting change. The cashier left an undisclosed amount of money on the counter and walked away from the register. The man took the money and fled the restaurant. The man was described as a black with a dark complexion, mid 40s, 5-feet 8-inches tall, 160 pounds, wearing a black leather jacket and dirty clothing. 

3000 block of Bamlet, Sept. 21: A person reported someone stole three UPS packages from the front porch of the residence. 

4300 block of Hampton, Sept. 23: A person reported someone stole two metal support poles and ten pounds of steel shims from the construction site.

2800 block of W. 14 Mile, Sept. 25: A person reported someone stole a dark blue 2012 Big Tex dump trailer. 

Spare tire stolen

700 block of Millard, Sept. 23: A woman reported someone stole the spare tire from her silver 2002 Chevy Suburban.

Acts of vandalism

1900 block of N. Campbell, Sept. 21: A woman reported an acquaintance slashed all four tires of her vehicle.

400 block of W. Fourth Street, Sept. 21: A woman reported someone broke the front window of her apartment with an unknown object.

1200 block of W. Farnum, Sept. 23: A man reported someone keyed his vehicle.
