Missing Traffic Lights at 12 Mile and Rochester Causing Delays
Drivers that can avoid the intersection should.
Traffic is slowed down near the intersection of 12 Mile and Rochester roads due to traffic lights that came crashing to the ground Thursday when a truck bumped a pole on the northeast corner, police say.
"It sounds like rust may have also been a factor," said Lt. Dave Clemens, "but we're not sure."
The intersection should be treated as a four-way stop until the lights are reinstalled.
Royal Oak police are keeping an eye on the intersection until the pole is replaced and new traffic lights can be installed. Police do not know when that will occur, Clemens said.
DTE sent a crew to investigate the situation, according to DTE spokesperson Alejandro Bodipo-Memba. It is not a DTE issue, he said.
