Motel Check Leads to Arrests, Vandals Target St. Mary and More

Highlights from Royal Oak Police Department reports from the past week:

Motel check leads to two arrests

825 E. 11 Mile (Royal Motor Inn), May 20: Royal Oak Officers conducted a motel check and arrested two people with outstanding warrants. One was arrested for outstanding domestic assault, driving while license suspended and traffic warrants. The other person was arrested for an outstanding assault and battery warrant and an animal violation warrant.

Vandals target St. Mary

730 S. Lafayette (St. Mary’s Catholic Church), May 20: The church reported someone spray painted graffiti on the exit doors of the parish.

730 S. Lafayette (St. Mary’s Catholic School), May 22: A man reported someone spray painted graffiti on the west side entry doors and on the playground equipment.

Thieves take bike, air conditioning unit and more

1500 block of Roseland, May 21: A man reported someone entered his unlocked garage and stole a black Trek Mountain Bike and an air conditioning unit.

3000 block of W. 13 Mile, May 21: A man reported someone entered his apartment through a window and stole a 32-inch Westinghouse LED television, Sony Play Station Video Game System, Wii Video Game System, Sony Blue Ray Player and a Sony video game.

Purse, laptop, wallet taken from cars

200 S. Center (Parking Structure), May 18: A woman reported someone broke out the front passenger window of her car and stole money out of her purse. 

500 block of S. Vermont, May 21: A man reported someone stole his Hewlett Packard Pro laptop computer out of his vehicle. 

500 E. 13 Mile, May 16: A woman reported someone stole the catalytic converter off of her Black 2007 Honda Element.

25352 Woodward (LA Fitness), May 17: A woman reported a man broke out the driver’s side rear window of her vehicle and stole a backpack containing prescription medication, miscellaneous clothing and personal items.

1600 block of E. Fifth, May 21: A woman reported someone stole her wallet out of her car. 

Tools taken at Church

529 Hendrie (First Presbyterian Church), May 22: A man reported someone stole tools he left unattended in front of the church.

Thieves attempt to steal vehicles

1300 block of Genesee, May 18: A woman reported someone attempted to steal her vehicle. The driver’s door lock and the ignition were damaged during the attempt.

3500 block of Crooks, May 18: A man reported someone attempted to steal his vehicle and damaged the door lock and the ignition.

Cars vandalized  

1900 block of Rowland, May 19: A man reported someone scratched the driver’s side of his vehicle with an object.  

2300 block of Brockton, May 18: A man reported someone broke out the passenger side front window of his vehicle. 

600 block of N. Main, May 20: A man reported someone dented two of his vehicles.

200 block of Willis, May 21: A man reported someone wrote on his vehicle with a paint marker and poured glue on it.
