Naked Sunbather Catches 25 Days in Jail

Police arrest Royal Oak man after he breaks his promise not to be outside without his clothes on again.

A 51-year-old Royal Oak man apparently wanted to catch some rays on Father's Day, but what he got instead was a stay in the Oakland County Jail.

Neighbors of Craig Floyd White, who lives in the 1100 block of Wyandotte in the southeast part of the city, got tired of seeing him sunbathing nude outside his home several times throughout the day Sunday.

A neighbor first called police when she saw White naked in his backyard. Police paid a visit and White said he wouldn't do it again. Later that day, however, the neighbor saw White standing on his front porch without any clothes on and called police again, Lt. Tom Goad said. Royal Oak officers arrived and arrested White for indecent exposure.

"At no point did officers see him naked," Goad said Friday. "Officers made a probable cause arrest."

White later appeared in 44th District Court in Royal Oak, where he was sentenced to $250 or 25 days in jail, Goad said. White was being held in the Oakland County Jail in Pontiac, according to county records.
