City Manager Donald Johnson appointed O’Donohue to the leadership position, saying he was the natural choice because he was second in command to Jahnke. Johnson said he believes O’Donohue will have no problem handling the position.

The search for a permanent chief has not begun, Johnson said, nor has he decided when the process would begin.
