Police Blotter: Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested

Highlights from Royal Oak Police Department reports from the past week:

Armed robbery suspects located in Oak Park

100 block of Allenhurst, Nov. 21: Royal Oak officers responded to the report of an armed robbery that had just occurred in the parking lot.  The victim reported that two males approached him and stole an undisclosed amount of currency and his cell phone. The victim reported the suspects were armed with a handgun and had fled the scene in a red pick up. A Royal Oak officer had observed a suspicious vehicle, matching the suspect vehicle, earlier in the night and logged the vehicle’s license plate information.  The officer relayed the vehicle information to the responding officers and other area departments. A short time later, Oak Park officers located the suspect vehicle and stopped it. The officers located the victim’s cell phone, currency inside the suspect vehicle. The officers also located a loaded handgun.  The two suspects were taken into custody for armed robbery and turned over to Royal Oak officers. During the search of the suspect vehicle, officers also located some credit cards. Those cards were linked to an armed robbery in Eastpointe that had occurred a few hours earlier.  

Home invasion

300 block of Mt. Vernon, Nov. 16:  A man reported someone entered his detached garage and stole two mini-bikes, crossbow, I-Pod and Stereo.

1000 block of N. Stephenson, Nov. 19: A woman reported someone attempted to pry open her front door.  No entry was gained to the home. 

Breaking and entering

Subway, 29486 Woodward Avenue, Nov. 18:  A man reported someone entered the store after hours and stole an undisclosed amount of currency from a coin safe.  The man believes the suspect is a recently released employee who still has possession of a key.

Andreopoulous and Hill Law Firm, 28900 Woodward Avenue, Nov. 16:  The business reported someone entered the business through a skylight and stole several computers and wireless keyboards. 

Bank card taken

300 block of E, Parent, Nov. 17:  A man reported someone stole a bank card from his home.  The suspect then used the card at various locations.  The man believes an acquaintance stole the card while visiting his home. 

Items taken from cars

400 block of N. West, Nov. 19:  A woman reported someone smashed the driver side window of her vehicle with a brick and stole her wallet. 

2900 block of N. Alexander, Nov. 19:  A woman reported someone stole the license plate from her vehicle.  

Total Soccer, 1319 Lexington, Nov. 20:  A man reported someone stole a laptop computer and several CD’s from his unlocked vehicle. 

Malicious damage to property 

Citizens Bank, 218 S. Main, Nov. 15:  Royal Oak officers located graffiti spray painted on the garage door. 

100 block of Curry, Nov. 17:  A man reported someone used a rock to smash her windshield. 

700 block of S. Pleasant, Nov. 17:  A man reported two white male suspects threw a flower pot through her front widow and then fled the area on foot. 

Royal Oak Manor, 606 Williams, Nov. 21:  A man reported someone attempted to pry open two vending machines causing damage.
