Police Blotter: Baby Reported Not Breathing at Motel

Highlights from Royal Oak Police Department reports from the past week:

Baby found not breathing at Seville 

28300 Woodward (Seville Motel), Feb. 4: Royal Oak officers and the Royal Oak Fire Department responded to the Seville Motel regarding a baby not breathing. The infant was rushed to William Beaumont Hospital for treatment. At the hospital the child was pronounced dead. The case is currently under investigation.

Home Invasion

200 block of Dewey, Feb. 1: A woman reported when she returned to her home, she heard her back door slam closed. She then observed two men jump the gate from her backyard and flee the area. Nothing appeared to be damaged or stolen from her residence and no suspects were located.

Thieves take iPhone, wallet, diamond ring and more

800 block of W. 11 Mile, Feb. 2: A man reported he left his iPhone in a taxi cab and it was stolen.

215 W. Fifth (Fifth Avenue), Feb. 2: A woman reported a man stole her wallet. Royal Oak Officers located the man with her wallet. He was arrested for larceny in a building.

700 block of N. Main, Jan. 31: A woman reported someone stole her wallet from her purse.  

3000 block of Elmhurst, Feb. 5: Complainant reported someone stole kitchen cabinets, a kitchen sink, a refrigerator and a stove out of a foreclosed home.   

1200 block of Wyandotte, Feb. 4: A man reported his diamond ring was stolen by an acquaintance of his roommate.  

500 block of W. Harrison, Feb. 4: A woman reported she hired a moving company to move her belongings. When the moving company was finished she noticed miscellaneous clothing and jewelry were stolen. The value of the property was approximately $7,000.  

Cars stolen

700 block of N. Alexander, Feb. 1: A woman reported her Gold 2000 Chrysler Concorde was stolen.  

500 block of Baldwin, Feb. 5: A woman reported someone stole her Green 97 Dodge Caravan.  

Laptop stolen from car

31053 Woodward (Belle Tire), Feb. 3: A woman reported her laptop computer was stolen out of her vehicle while it was in for service at Belle Tire.  

Malicious damage to property

200 N. Main (Emagine Theatre), Feb. 1: A woman reported someone scratched the passenger side of her vehicle.

400 W. 11 Mile, Feb. 6: A woman reported someone broke out the rear windshield of her vehicle.

215 S. Main (Mr. B’s), Feb. 5: Two employees had an argument. One of the employees intentionally damaged the other employee’s cell phone.
