Police Blotter: Breaking and Entering, Larceny, Vandalism and Indecent Exposure

The Royal Oak Police Department made 23 arrests from July 10-17.

The Royal Oak Police Department has issued the following activity summary for the week of July 10-17.

Breaking and Entering

1016 S. Main (Main Street Donuts), 7-14-14, 6:45 p.m. – 7:50 p.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect entered the business by removing a window from the north side of the business. Nothing was reported stolen or damaged. 14-22804

Larceny from Automobile

200 block of N. Blair, 7-14-14, 12:30 p.m. – 2:40 p.m.: Complainant reported she parked her 2009 Dodge Caravan on the street in front of her residence. When she returned she discovered an unknown suspect had stolen the driver side mirror. 14-22699

300 S. Lafayette (Parking Structure), 7-11-14, 8:00 a.m. – 5:15 p.m.: Complainant reported he parked his 2014 Chrysler Town and Country van on the second floor. When he returned he discovered an unknown suspect had broken out the front passenger window and stole the in-dash navigation system. 14-22250

Larceny

3601 W. Thirteen Mile (William Beaumont Hospital), 7-14-14, 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.: Complainant reported he locked his bicycle to a bike rack in front of the south tower. When he returned he discovered an unknown suspect cut the lock and stole it. 14-22681

100 block of N. Gainsborough, 7-11-14, 7:57 a.m. – 5:15 p.m.: Complainant reported an acquaintance stole a jar of coins from his residence. 14-22249

707 Girard (Churchill School), 7-11-14, 7:15 a.m. – 7:45 a.m.: Complainant reported he left a Makita gas powered saw outside the north side of the building. When he returned he discovered it had been stolen by an unknown suspect. 14-22207

300 block of N. Main, 7-11-14, 5:18 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.: Complainant reported she placed an online order. The packages were delivered and placed outside the apartment door. When she went to retrieve the packages she discovered they had been stolen by an unknown suspect. 14-22823

1900 N. Washington (American House), 7-9-14 – 7-11-14, 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 a.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect stole her prescription medication from her room. 14-22805

1200 block of N. Wilson, 7-15-14 – 7-16-14, 12:00 p.m. – 11:30 a.m.: Complainant reported an acquaintance stole four (4) of his bank checks and cashed two (2) of them at a local bank. 14-22909

3323 Rochester (Soundscape Recording Studio), 7-15-14, 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.: Complainant reported he rented the recording studio to a group of individuals. When the group was finished, he noticed a gumball vending machine had been stolen from the area the group was using. 14-22900

3115 Evergreen (Arlington Apartments), 7-15-14 – 7-16-14, 5:30 p.m. – 8:45 a.m.: Complainant reported she left a MacBook Air laptop on her desk in the leasing office. When she returned the following morning she discovered it was stolen by an unknown suspect. 14-22872

Malicious Destruction of Property

500 block of N. Alexander, 7-13-14, 3:00 a.m.: A Royal Oak resident observed a group of  individuals walking down the street and one of the subjects break the rear windshield of a parked car. The resident called 911. Officers responded to the area, located the suspect and arrested him for malicious destruction of property. 14-22561

100 block of N. Center, 7-12-14, 12:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.: Complainant reported he parked his vehicle on the street. When he returned he discovered an unknown suspect keyed the driver’s side of the car. 14-22412

500 block of Orchardview, 7-14-15 – 7-15-14, 9:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m.: Complainant reported an unknown suspect cut down a small tree in her front yard. 14-22768

Other Incidents and Information

Woodward and Thirteen Mile, 7-16-14, 6:33 p.m.: Complainant reported she was driving eastbound on Thirteen Mile, east of Woodward, and observed a lone subject in a silver Ford Focus. The suspect had his pants down, exposing himself, in the lane next to her. She called

the police department and reported the incident when she returned home. The suspect was described as a black male between 20 to 30 years old. 14-22912

30776 Woodward (Sagamore Motel), 7-14-14, 2:21 a.m.: Officers conducted a motel check and located a subject with an outstanding felony warrant for absconding from parole. The subject was arrested without incident. 14-22659

4400 block of Sedgemoor, 7-14-14, 8:29 a.m.: Officers conducted a sex offender check and determined the subject was non-compliant. He was arrested for failing to comply with the sex offender registry requirements. 14-14-22676
