Police Blotter: Elderly Woman Dies Following House Fire Rescue

Elderly woman dies following house fire rescue

900 block of S. Center, Feb. 15: Royal Oak Police Officers assisted the Royal Oak Fire Department with a kitchen fire. The victim, a 91-year-old woman, was seriously injured when her clothing caught fire while she was cooking. An acquaintance suffered minor burn injuries when he came to the aid of the victim and put the fire out. Both subjects were transported to Detroit Receiving Hospital for treatment. The female victim died at the hospital early Saturday morning. The case is currently under investigation.  

Copper piping, laptop stolen

4800 block of Briarwood, Feb. 16: Complainant reported someone stole copper piping from the basement.

800 block of Irving, Feb. 16: Complainant reported someone stole a package containing a laptop computer delivered by UPS. The package was left in the front doorway of his residence.

Car stolen

800 block of E. 11 Mile, Feb. 18: A man reported someone stole his white 2002 Cadillac Deville.

Malicious damage to property

Campbell & Ottawa (Mark Twain Park), Feb. 15: Complainant reported someone damaged the access gate to the dog park.

Other Incidents 

30254 Woodward (AT&T Store), Feb. 14: Complainant reported someone attempted to gain entry to the business.
