Highlights from Royal Oak Police Department reports from the past week:
500 block of Parkdale, Sept. 28: A woman reported someone forced open a bedroom window and stole her MacBook and an undisclosed amount of currency.
400 block of Mount Vernon, Sept. 30: A man reported someone entered the upper loft of his detached garage and stole a television, tabletop video game, and other miscellaneous sports items.
Breaking and entering
Verizon Wireless, 31941 Woodward Ave., Oct. 4: Royal Oak officers responded to a commercial business alarm and discovered the front glass door of the business smashed out. Officers discovered the someone stole a Samsung 10.1 tablet from an office area.
Café Habana, 419 S. Main Street, Sept. 29: A woman reported her iPhone missing after leaving the café. The woman tracked her iPhone through a computer application and determined it was still at the café and returned to the café to check for the missing iPhone. The café manager checked surveillance video and determined an employee had stolen it. The manager retrieved the iPhone, returned it to the owner and terminated the employee for the theft.
100 block of Woodsboro, Sept. 29: A woman reported someone stole jewelry from her home.
Stella Boutique, 110 W. Fourth, Sept. 1: A woman reported two females, one heavy set and one thin, entered her store and stole credit cards from her purse.
William Beaumont Rehabilitation Center, 4949 Coolidge, Oct. 3: A man reported someone stole his checkbook from his sweatshirt.
500 block of E. Fourth, Sept. 29: A man reported someone stole his Black 2001 Suzuki motorcycle.
Items taken from cars
100 block of Lexington , Sept. 30: A woman reported someone entered her unlocked vehicle and stole a portable GPS unit.
1300 block of Bauman, Sept. 27: A woman reported someone stole her purse, wallet and iPod from her unlocked vehicle.
2900 block of N. Blair, Oct. 3: A man reported someone entered his unlocked vehicle and stole books, a sweatshirt, and a stethoscope.
William Beaumont Hospital, 3601 W. 13 Mile, Sept. 27: A woman reported someone attempted to enter her vehicle by punching the lock.
3200 block of Belle Court, Oct. 2: A man reported someone smashed the passenger side window on his 2008 Dodge Caravan and stole the in-dash GPS unit, a laptop computer and a gun safe. The gun safe contained a Ruger SR40 handgun.
Malicious damage to property
Royal Oak Church of Christ, 115 S. Campbell, Oct. 3: A man reported someone broke two of the church windows with a BB gun.
William Beaumont Hospital, 3601 W. 13 Mile, Sept. 27: Royal Oak officers responded to the hospital when security staff noticed a post on Twitter of a subject in one of their hospital rooms, posing with what appeared to be a semi automatic handgun. Officers quickly secured the area and determined that the photo had been taken the day prior. The person was no longer at the hospital.
Lincoln and Woodward Avenue, Sept. 29: A woman reported her ex-boyfriend followed her home from work and confronted her about being in another dating relationship. The woman exited her vehicle and spoke to the ex-boyfriend. The ex-boyfriend then approached the passenger who was seated in the vehicle and began banging on the window and challenging him to a fight. Officers arrived to the scene and discovered the suspect was in possession of a large knife.
