Police Blotter: Man Exposes Butt at Bar, Bullets Found at Theater

Home invasions and theft incidents dominated reports to the during the past week:

Man exposes himself, battles police

  • , 215 W. Fifth, Dec. 30: Staff members flagged Royal Oak officers when an intoxicated man inside the business exposed his buttocks. The man was escorted out of the establishment and his friend began to interfere with the officers. Both subjects became combative and eventually one of the men kicked the rear window of a patrol vehicle. Both men were charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. One man was also charged with malicious destruction of police property.

Gun magazine found in Emagine theater

  • , 200 N. Main, Dec. 30: Employees reported finding a .40 caliber magazine with 13 bullets in it in one of the theaters. Royal Oak police confiscated the magazine.

Prescription fraud attempt at Walgreens

  • , 30852 Woodward, Jan. 3: Royal Oak officers responded to a report of someone attempting to fill a fraudulent prescription. When officers arrived at Walgreens they found someone standing at the pharmacy counter and another person waiting outside in a vehicle. The investigation revealed the two people were in possession of fraudulent prescriptions as well as a handgun. Both suspects were arrested.

Homes invaded

  • 1900 block of N. Main, Dec. 31: A man reported that someone entered his apartment and stole two laptop computers.
  • 600 block of N. Campbell, Jan. 2: A man reported that he heard a noise at his back window and kitchen door. When he went to investigate he found the kitchen door pushed open and the screen on the rear window bent. The man did not see anyone and nothing was missing from the home.
  • , 825 E. 11 Mile, Jan. 2: A man reported that someone stole a television from his motel room.
  • 1400 block of Catalpa, Jan. 4: A woman reported that someone tried to pry open her rear door. The alarm was triggered and no entry was gained.

Damage to property

  • , 221 N. Main, Dec. 31: The business reported that someone damaged the brick wall that surrounds the parking lot.
  • 3800 block of Hillside, Jan. 3: A man reported that someone slashed two tires on his 2011 Chevy.

Other incidents

  • , 29444 Woodward Ave., Dec. 29: A man reported that someone entered his locker and stole an undisclosed amount of money.
  • DTE Energy, 3425 Starr, Jan. 3: Someone reported that two meter keys were stolen from the business.
  • , 32889 Woodward, Jan. 4: The business reported that a chair and two extension cords were stolen from the front of the business.
  • 7-Eleven, 3380 Greenfield, Jan. 5: The business reported that two males entered the store, grabbed four cases of beer and ran out without paying.
