Police Blotter: Man Exposes Himself Downtown, Stuffed Coyote Stolen

Highlights from reports from the week of March 23-29:

Man exposes himself downtown

  • Main and Second streets, March 25: Royal Oak officers were notified of a man driving a white 1991 Mercedes-Benz in the downtown area and exposing himself. Royal Oak officers located the man's vehicle and performed a traffic stop. The man was found to have his pants down around his waist with his genitals visible. The man was arrested on a charge of indecent exposure and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Stuffed coyote stolen from home

  • 1800 block of Vinsetta, March 26: A resident reported someone entered the home and stole money and a coyote stuffed by a taxidermist. There were no signs of forced entry.

Home invasions

  • 1400 block of South Washington, March 23: A woman reported someone entered her unlocked home and stole a purse, laptop and credit cards.
  • 1500 block of North Vermont, March 26: A resident reported someone attempted to gain entry to the home through the front door. A retention chain stopped the intruder from gaining entry.

Cars stolen

  • 1000 block of Batavia , March 24: A man reported someone attempted to steal his 2008 silver Dodge Ram truck. The suspect caused extensive interior damage to the vehicle and stole money from it.
  • , 31200 Woodward Ave., March 28: The dealer reported a heavy set man, approximately 30 years old, stole a bronze 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix after a test drive.

Items taken from unlocked cars

  • 1500 block of Edgewood, March 25: A man reported someone entered his unlocked vehicle and stole his portable GPS unit. The vehicle was parked in his garage.
  • 1100 block of Batavia, March 23: A woman reported someone entered her unlocked vehicle and stole an iPod, laptop and other electronic devices.
  • 1100 block of Irving, March 23: A man reported that someone entered his unlocked vehicle and stole his black Springfield Smith and Wesson .40 caliber handgun.
  • 800 block of South Stephenson, March 27: A man reported someone entered his two unlocked vehicles and stole sunglasses, iPod, purse and a jewelry case.
  • 2300 block of Guthrie, March 27: A woman reported someone entered her unlocked vehicle and stole an iron and makeup bag.
  • 2300 block of Guthrie, March 27: A man reported someone entered his unlocked vehicle and stole sunglasses and a digital projector.
  • 800 block of Symes, March 18: A man reported someone entered his unlocked vehicle and stole his sunglasses and CDs.

Items taken from locked cars

  • 2300 block of Guthrie, March 27: A man reported someone stole tools, a camera and fishing gear from his vehicle.
  • , 25352 Woodward Ave., March 28: A woman reported someone smashed the passenger side window of her vehicle and stole a purse, cell phone and currency.
  • LA Fitness, 25352 Woodward Ave., March 28: A woman reported someone smashed the passenger side window of her vehicle and stole a purse.

Larcencies

  • , 224 S. Sherman, March 24: A woman reported someone stole her purse.
  • 4100 block of West 13 Mile, March 25: A woman reported an acquaintance stole three rings from her home.
  • , 419 S. Main, March 24: A woman reported someone stole her iPhone.
  • , 1314 Northwood, March 26: A woman reported someone stole her purse from the kitchen area.
  • 600 block of West Farnum, March 28: A man reported someone stole a computer bag from his driveway when he went into his home for a short period of time.

Other incidents

  • 100 block of North Gainsborough, March 25: A man reported someone threw a landscape rock through her bedroom window.
  • , 401 N. Main, March 24: Someone threw a rock and shattered a large double-paned glass window.
  • 1100 block of Marywood, March 24: A woman reported hearing voices on the side of her home. Royal Oak officers arrived and located a highly intoxicated man passed out in the backyard. The suspect was arrested on a charge of public intoxication.
  • 900 block of Lawndale, March 28: A resident reported a man entered the garage of a vacant home. Royal Oak officers located the man and arrested him on a charge of trespassing and possession of open intoxicants.
  • , 200 N. Main, March 28: A patron reported someone scratched "The Moon M" into the vehicle’s passenger side back door.
