Police Blotter: Men Steal Expensive Cell Phones

Suspects walk away with cell phones

30254 Woodward (AT&T), May 4: A manager reported two men entered the store and looked at various cell phone displays. After they left, the manager realized two Samsung S4 cell phones valued at $640 each and a Blackberry Z10 cell phone valued at $549 were stolen. He reviewed the video and observed the subjects stealing the cell phones.

One of the suspects was described as a black man in his early 20s, thin build, 5-feet 10-inches to 6-feet 1-inch tall, black afro and numerous visible tattoos. The A man reported he had the word “MOB” tattooed on his forearm.

The other suspect was described as a black man in his early 20s, thin build, 5-feet 10-inch to 6-feet 1 tall, with a black afro. The manager reported he had the word “Tracy” tattooed on his neck. 

Additionally, both men were in the store earlier in the week and left in a Red Ford Escape with tinted windows.

Thief enters home through widow

1000 block of Hoffman, May 6: A woman reported someone entered her home through a window and stole miscellaneous jewelry, a checkbook and an undisclosed amount of currency.

Purse, wallet taken from vehicles 

2400 block of W. 14 Mile, 4-30: A woman reported someone stole her purse out of her vehicle.

4000 block of Custer, May 3: A man reported someone stole his wallet out of his vehicle.

iPod, bikes, cash and more taken

800 block of N. Main, May 2: A man reported an acquaintance stole his PlayStation 3 video game system, video games and his keys. 

29861 Woodward (Modern Skate and Surf), May 3:A man reported he locked his silver women’s mountain bike to a telephone pole next to the business and someone stole it.

5000 block of Delemere, May 8: A man reported he left his Apple iPod unattended and someone stole it.

600 block of Williams, May 7: A woman reported a relative stole an undisclosed amount of currency from her apartment while she was on vacation. 

11 Mile and Washington, May 5: A man reported he left his bicycle unlocked while he was inside a business. When he returned he discovered his bicycle was stolen.

Car stolen

300 block of E. 11 Mile, May 3: A woman reported someone stole her silver 1999 Honda Civic from the apartment parking lot.

Teen kicks out window of business

718 W. 11 Mile (Eaton & Susan Accountants), May 4: A witness reported a younger man got out of a black Chrysler 200 in front of the business. The man kicked the front window causing it to break. The man fled on foot as the driver of the vehicle drove away. The suspect was described as a white man in his late teens with shoulder length brown hair. The driver was described as an older white male with reddish hair.

Malicious destruction of property

4000 block of Highfield, May 4: A woman reported someone cracked the windshield of her vehicle with unknown object.

2200 block of Baxter, May 6: A man reported someone shot the side of his garage with a BB, damaging the vinyl siding.

2415 Brockton (Oakland Elementary), May 4: A man called to report he observed someone damage the lawn to the school. Royal Oak Officers located a parked vehicle nearby with mud in the tires and the owner admitted to damaging the sod around the school. He was issued a violation and agreed to pay for the damages.

4000 block of Judson, May 7: A man reported someone flattened four tires; spray painted the windows and dented the doors of her vehicle.

2600 block of W. 13 Mile, May 3: A man reported and unknown suspect broke out a window of his home with a beer bottle.
