Police Blotter: Motel Arrest, Vandalism, Home Invasions and More

Highlights of Royal Oak Police reports for the week of May 18-24:

Motel guest arrested after cops find brass knuckles

  • Seville Motel, 28300 Woodward Ave., May 21: Royal Oak officers were investigating suspicious activity at the motel when they discovered a motel guest carrying brass knuckles. The suspect was found to have a felony warrant and was taken into custody on a charge of carrying a concealed weapon and felony warrant.

House egged, parking garage sprayed with graffiti

  • 700 block of Forest, May 17: A woman reported someone damaged the door lock on her vehicle.
  • 2900 block of Vinsetta, May 20: A resident reported someone smeared ketchup, soap and eggs on his house and vehicle.
  • Lafayette Parking Structure, 300 S. Lafayette, May 21: Complainant reported someone spray painted graffiti on the walls and parking blocks in the structure.
  • 2000 block of North Campbell, May 23: A resident reported someone smashed the bay window to his home.

Computers, hot water heater, bikes stolen from homes

  • 1400 block of South Main, May 19: A resident reported someone entered his home and stole three laptops and an iPad.
  • 2300 block of Barrett, May 20: A resident reported someone entered the home and stole a light fixture and hot water heater.
  • 200 block of West Lawrence, May 21: A resident reported someone entered his secured detached garage and stole two mountain bikes. The bikes are described as a white Trek Sky S and an orange Gary Fisher Piranha.
  • 2300 block of Barrett, May 23: A woman reported someone entered her unlocked detached garage and stole her cream colored bicycle.

Thieves hit businesses, high school, residences

  • David Pressley, 1127 S. Washington, May 17: A woman reported someone stole her wallet from her work station.
  • 1100 block of West Farnum, May 18: A resident reported someone stole his two bicycles from the basement storage area of his apartment building.
  • Autohaus, 4411 Delemere, May 19: A woman reported someone stole her cell phone and tools from her work station.
  • 2300 block of Middlesex, May 19: A resident reported someone stole his leaf blower and vacuum from the front yard.
  • 2600 block of Shenandoah, May 21 (occurred in December 2011): A woman reported someone stole the fuse to her air conditioning unit.
  • Royal Oak High School, 1500 Lexington, May 23: Complainant reported someone stole her iPhone from one of the classrooms.

Vehicles break-ins net ID, cash and GPS

  • 500 block of Wellesley, May 22: A woman reported someone broke off her car door handle, entered the vehicle and stole her identification and an undisclosed amount of money.
  • 600 block of North Gainsborough, May 23: A woman reported someone smashed the passenger side window and stole the in-dash GPS unit from her Chrysler Town & Country.
