Police Blotter: Police Officer Assaulted, Uninvited Drunk Arrested

The following information was supplied by the Royal Oak Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Highlights from Royal Oak Police Department reports from the past week:

Police officer assaulted during arrest

600 block of Park, Mar. 7: Royal Oak Officers responded to a residence to arrest a person with an outstanding warrant. During the arrest process a second person interfered with the arrest and assaulted one of the officers. During the struggle the officer was injured. The officer was transported to the hospital for treatment. The initial person was arrested for the outstanding warrant and the second person was arrested for assaulting a police officer.

Uninvited drunk arrested 

200 block of Oakdale, Mar. 3: A man reported an intoxicated person entered his home and passed out in his living room. The person was arrested for entering without permission.

Medication stolen 

3600 block of Crooks, Feb. 28: A man reported someone entered his unlocked apartment and stole his prescription medications.

Drum equipment stolen from unlocked car 

1000 block of Symes Court, Mar. 4: A man reported someone stole an equipment bag containing five cymbal stands, two snare drum stands and a bass drum pedal from his unlocked vehicle. The A man reported seeing an older model white four door Sedan stopped near his vehicle just prior to the theft.

Temporary plate stolen

3800 block of Hillside Court, Mar. 2: A man reported someone stole his temporary license plate off of his vehicle.

Purse, iPad and more stolen

30991 Woodward (Kroger), Mar. 3: A woman reported someone stole her purse from a shopping cart in the parking lot.

3601 W. 13 Mile (William Beaumont Hospital), Mar. 1: A woman reported someone stole her iPad from the waiting room. 

31991 Woodward (Potbelly Sandwich Shop), Feb. 28: A woman reported she left her purse in the restaurant and someone stole it.

3800 block of Crooks, Mar. 4: A woman reported an acquaintance stole her gold necklace.

Woman distracts employee 

122 S. Main (The Eye Candy Store), Mar. 6: An employee reported two people entered the store. One distracted her while the other stole her wallet out of her purse. The person that distracted the employee was described as a female in her 30s, small build, wearing a gray wool coat and a gray flannel winter hat with a brim. The second suspect was described as an older man, average build, wearing a green puffy coat.

Cars stolen

3400 block of W. 14 Mile, Mar. 1: A woman reported someone stole her Green 1997 Ford F-150.

200 block of Sherman (Parking Lot), Mar. 5: A woman reported someone stole her Blue and Black 2002 Chrysler Sebring.

3200 block of Greenfield, Mar. 4: A woman reported someone stole her Blue 2012 Chrysler Sebring.

1900 block of E. Lincoln, Mar. 6: A man reported two people in a blue conversion van, with gold stripes on the sides, attempted to steal his Black 2000 Chevrolet Silverado.

4900 block of Woodland, Mar. 6: A woman reported someone attempted to steal her Purple 2002 Dodge Stratus.

4900 block of Woodland, Mar. 6: A man reported someone stole her Blue 2002 Dodge Stratus.

Kroger employee assaulted

30991 Woodward (Kroger), Mar. 5: A Kroger employee was assaulted by a man in the main entrance of the store.

Handgun stolen

300 block of Park, Mar. 4: A man reported he gave his ex-girlfriend permission to enter his residence to retrieve her personal items. When he returned home he discovered some of his property was damaged and a handgun was stolen.
