Police Blotter: Thieves Target Tires, Counterfeit Bills Passed and More

Highlights from Royal Oak Police Department reports from the past week:

Man paid for iPad with counterfeit bills

800 block of S. Center, Jan. 29: A man reported he listed an iPad for sale on Craig’s List. He met a buyer in a parking lot and received $320 in cash. Later he discovered $300 was counterfeit money.

Home invasion

300 block of W. 13 Mile, Jan. 30: A man reported someone entered his apartment and stole two television sets, two Nintendo Game systems and 100 DVDs.

3200 block of Coolidge, Jan. 29: A woman reported someone entered her residence and rummaged through her belongings.

Wedding ring, laptops and more stolen

400 block of Charlotte, Jan. 28: A woman reported someone stole a landscaping sculpture from her yard.

1000 block of Irving, Jan. 27: A woman reported an acquaintance stole her wedding ring.

3601 W. 13 Mile (William Beaumont Hospital), Jan. 28: Complainant reported someone stole three laptop computers from the administrative building.

709 N. Washington (Royal Oak Middle School), Jan. 27: A female reported someone stole her flute.

Cars stolen 

100 block of N. Vermont, Jan. 29: A man reported his vehicle was stolen.

300 block of Midland, Jan. 29: A man reported his car keys were removed from his unlocked residence. The unknown suspects stole his red 2012 Dodge Charger and his green 1998 Mercury Mystique.

Items taken from cars

600 block of S. Washington, Jan. 24: A woman reported her prescription medication was stolen out of her vehicle. 

200 block of N. Edison, Jan. 30: A man reported someone stole his prescription glasses out of his 2002 Jeep Cherokee. 

1000 block of W. 11 Mile, Jan. 24: A man reported his in-dash navigation system and wallet were stolen from his 2008 Chrysler Town & Country.

2000 block of N. Campbell, Jan. 25: A man reported someone stole the in-dash navigation system out of his 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Thieves target tires 

1200 block of Crooks, Jan. 25: A man reported someone stole all four tires off of his 2013 Ford Focus.

3000 block of W. 13 Mile, Jan. 25: A man reported someone attempted to steal the tires off of his 2010 Chevrolet.

2300 block of Starr, Jan. 24: A man reported someone stole all four tires off of his 2011 Buick Regal.

1700 block of gardenia, Jan. 29: A man reported someone stole all four tires off of his 2010 Dodge Charger.

Windshield, window broken

4400 block of Woodland, Jan. 29: A man reported someone broke out the rear windshield of his vehicle.

25800 block of York, Jan. 27: A man reported someone broke out the driver side vent window of his vehicle.

Other incidents

30776 Woodward (Sagamore Motel), Jan. 26: Royal Oak Officers arrested a subject with an outstanding felony warrant.
