Warren Woman Attempts to Cash Fraudulent Checks in Royal Oak

A woman attempting to cash fraudulent checks in Royal Oak was arrested on Jan. 21.

According to police, officers responded at 5:26 p.m. Tuesday to the First Merit bank, 4609 Crooks, to investigate a woman attempting to cash a fraudulent check. Officers observed Rose Ann Cairo, 49, of Warren in possession of two counterfeit checks, according to reports.

Cairo was arraigned Thursday in front of Judge Terrance Brennan in 44th District Court. She was charged with two counts of uttering and publishing. Her bond was set at $15,000. The next hearing date is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Jan. 31.
