Royal Oak Home Invasion Suspects Arrested

Kirk Locklear, 21, and Randall Jarvis, 23, both of Madison Heights, have been charged with home invasion-second degree.

Royal Oak Police have arrested two Madison Heights men in connection with a home invasion earlier last week.

Royal Oak Deputy Chief Gordon Young said in a release that Kirk Locklear, 21, and Randall Jarvis, 23, have been charged with home invasion-second degree.

Locklear does not have a prior criminal record; Jarvis' record includes disorderly conduct and two operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

Young said that around 11:48 a.m. on Nov. 1, Royal Oak police officers were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle in the vicinity of E. Fourth and S. Gainsborough. A witness reported seeing two people leave a red pickup truck and return to it a short time later with several items.

Royal Oak officer quickly located the truck driving away from the area and discovered the pair had allegedly kicked in the rear door to a house in the 1000 block of E. Third Street. Several stolen items were recovered, including two Xbox systems, video games and prescription narcotics, according to the media release.

“Thanks to the witness’s quick actions and the Royal Oak officers’ speedy response to the area, these criminals were captured and the victim’s property was recovered,” stated Young in the release.
