Royal Oak Man Faces Indecent Exposure Charge in Ferndale

A 52-year-old Royal Oak resident faces an indecent exposure charge after a woman said he flashed her in a McDonald's drive-through.

On Saturday, Ferndale Police responded to the McDonald's at 22525 Woodward on the report of a man who exposed himself to a woman.

The 24-year-old woman told police that while going through the drive-through line she was approached by a man who made lewd gestures while he walked towards her, according to a press release from police.

He then approached her and pulled down his pants and exposed his penis to her, the report states. He then went inside of the restaurant.

Officers arrived and arrested the man - Jhuty Ntcher Kem, 52, of Royal Oak - after finding him in a bathroom stall at the McDonald's.

The woman told police she also previously saw the man on Dec. 13 near Woodward and Maplehurst. On that day, she said that the man had approached her on the sidewalk, made a lewd gesture and then grabbed his crotch through his pants without exposing himself, the report states.

She called police that day but the suspect was not found, police said.

Kem was arraigned Monday morning on a charge of indecent exposure. Bond was set at $1500 cash/surety.
