Royal Oak Police Golf Outing Raises Money for Community

Police and golfers raise about $10,000 for the Boys & Girls Club of South Oakland County.

About 140 golfers from law enforcement and the general community kicked off the Royal Oak Police Charity Golf Outing Monday to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of South Oakland County.

The event at Red Run Golf Club, co-sponsored by Fifth Avenue, raised about $10,000, reported to Lt. Bill Sawyer of the Royal Oak Police.

"We had a waiting list to get in this year," Sawyer said. "We've had a tremendous response from the community."
