Thieves Target Cellphones at Gym

Thief attempts to steal car

 

4000 block of W. 13 Mile, Jan. 4 – Jan. 5, 7 p.m. – 9:30 a.m.: A man parked and locked his vehicle in the lot of the apartment complex. When he returned to his vehicle he discovered someone damaged the door lock and ignition while attempting to steal it. The person stole two jackets and miscellaneous tools from the vehicle.

Cellphones stolen

411 S. Washington (Moti Mahal Restaurant), Jan. 5, 2:26 p.m. – 2:28p.m.: A man reported he placed his cell phone on a table in the kitchen of the restaurant and left the area for a few moments. When he returned he discovered someone stole his cell phone.

25352 Woodward, (L.A. Fitness), Jan. 3, 6:45 p.m. – 7 p.m.: Men reported they went to the gym area of the facility to play basketball. They placed their coats and cellphones on the floor near the area they were playing. When they were done they discovered someone stole two cellphones.

4703 Crooks (Subway), Jan. 4, 8 a.m. – 11 a.m.: A woman parked her car in the Subway parking lot and entered the business. When she returned to her car she discovered someone stole her cellphone from the unlocked vehicle.

 

Tires slashed, keyed

 

2000 block of E. Fourth Street, Jan. 6 – Jan. 7, 10 p.m. – 9:30 a.m.: A man reported he parked his vehicle in front of his residence. When he returned to his vehicle he noticed his left front tire was flat. He inspected the tire and discovered someone slashed his tire.

2000 E. 12 Mile (Matthews Hargreaves), Nov. 28 – Jan. 3, 9 a.m.: A man reported he dropped his vehicle off at the dealership for service. While the vehicle was parked in the lot someone keyed the exterior of the vehicle and stole miscellaneous items left inside.
