Woman, 28, Found Dead in Her Royal Oak Home

Cause of death has not been determined and the case is under investigation, police say.

A 28-year-old woman was found dead inside her Royal Oak  home, west of Interstate 75, police said.

Royal Oak officers responded to a 911 call late afternoon Thursday in the 2000 block of East 11 Mile Road, Lt. Thomas Goad said. "When they got there they found a 28-year-old female deceased inside the residence," he said.

Goad said the department is not releasing any details as the case is still under investigation. He would not comment on whether or not investigators suspect foul play is involved in the woman's death.

Please update this story as it progresses. There have been police in and out of that condo since it happened (2 days now). The neighborhood is very worried. A lot of kids in the area...

I live a block away from where this young woman was found dead. I passed by her residence (on the way home to my 4 minor children) while the scene was cordoned off with crime scene tape. I stopped to inquire to the police on the scene. Did I need to worry about neighborhood safety? The first thing the officer asked me was if I was associated with the residence. No, I am not. The officer I spoke with was reluctant to comment on the investigation. He only commented that they were investigating a death. I inquired if I should be concerned about a community threat. He flinched and then responded, “no”. The flinching in his body language concerned me. It didn’t occur he was being totally honest. I acted like I wasn’t concerned with his body language. I wished him luck on his investigation and apologized for my interference. Yet, something in me felt he was not being as totally honest. This victim was young... 28!! Come on! If it wasn't natural causes, or if it was a freaky accident or a suicide, they would be saying so, right? We as residence need to know!

Any new updates on this? Are autopsy reports or death certificates issued yet? Thanks

No autopsy report report yet, but I am checking and will write a follow-up story as soon as I have the information. Feel free to send me an email if you have further questions.

Still no update? I am so curious what the autopsy results were.

Hmm. If it is taking them this long to release the info then it must be something fishy that would spoil their investigation.

I reached out to Lt. Thomas Goad, Criminal Investigations Division of the ROPD this morning. He wishes he could give out more information but the investigation is still ongoing. He offered this: "What I will tell you after reading some of the comments to your article is that there is nothing the local residents need to be concerned with regarding their safety."

This woman was my husband ex of 11 years. The story does not end well, so I think everyone should just know that there is no real danger in the area and I believe arrests had been made the day they found her body. But out of respect for her and her family I don't want to get into specifics. It was a horrible thing and I know the people responsible will be punished accordingly.
