Woman, 57, Loses Control of Vehicle; Crashes into Parked Car

Alcohol appears to be a factor in the incident.

A vehicle, driven by a 57-year-old Royal Oak woman, crashed into a vehicle parked at a house in the 4100 block of Coolidge Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The initial investigation indicates the driver was traveling southbound on Coolidge near Normandy at approximately 1:32 p.m. when she attempted to turn onto eastbound Normandy. The driver lost control of her vehicle while turning. 

The woman continued traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Coolidge and struck a parked vehicle, according to a Royal Oak Police Department press release.

The driver was the lone occupant of the vehicle. No one was seriously injured in the crash. 

The Royal Oak Police Department is currently investigating the incident. Alcohol appears to be a factor, police said.
