Woman Stabbed at Royal Oak Apartment; Boyfriend Charged

Royal Oak man is charged with felonious assault.

A woman was stabbed with a knife in a Royal Oak Apartment early Tuesday morning and her boyfriend has been charged, according to Royal Oak Police. 

According to police, Antwan Cargile, 44, stabbed his girlfriend in the leg in while she was sleeping on the floor at around 2 a.m. in the 4100 block of W. 13 Mile.

Officers entered the apartment and located the Cargile, a Royal Oak resident. He was arrested after a brief struggle, police said.

The woman was transported to the hospital for treatment and was released from the hospital later that morning.

Cargile, was arraigned in the 44th District Court Wednesday before Judge Terrence Brennan. He was charged with one count of felonious assault and bond was set at $15,000. His next hearing date is scheduled for Feb. 7, at 9 a.m.
