Boom! What Did You Think of the 4th of July Fireworks After Michigan's New Law?

Everywhere in southeast Michigan Wednesday night, fireworks, smoke and lots of pops and booms filled the air. Folks were amused and/or annoyed with the results of the new law. What did you think?

State law now allows had people reacting Wednesday night.

There were far more pops and booms and sparks in the air far and wide across southeast Michigan. Some were thrilled with the spectacle. Others were miffed with the noise and smoke.

What did you think? Tell us in comments or in the poll.

It's been horrible in my neighborhood --and it's been going on for weeks! Plus, the othe night, some idiot was setting them off up until 2:45 am! Are there any ordinances in RO that restrict when fireworks can be used? This problem needs to be dealt with. Why do the majority of us have to suffer because of the few who enjoy making this obnoxious racket?

Our neighborhood on the 3rd sounded like any other year in the past though our dog always gets upset by the noise. The 4th was something else, noisy all day and leading up to the Clawson Fireworks and did not quiet down untill 1:00 Pm. It sounded like a battle zone!! The dog freaked out for four hrs,My husband stayed in the house with him and I sat out side on the porch to watch the show by the house. It was impressive and all in all I enjoyed it,my husband did not. But then I did not have to get up for work in morning.......

Thanks, Debbie. Since the RO Police Dpt is understaffed, I wonder if it's realistic to think that they would act upon my complaints? If they would, I should have called them weeks ago.
