The Royal Oak Planning Commission voted unanimously Tuesday to approve final plans for the Maxwell Park II condominium project.
The project will subdivide portion of former Longfellow Elementary school site at 11 Mile Road and Maxwell into two individual lots for single-family detached dwellings and construct 12 multiple-family dwelling units within three buildings.
The petitioner, Town Building Company of Royal Oak, went before the planning commission in July and all changes requested at the table were made, according to Tim Thwing, director of planning.
Neighbors on Maxwell expressed concern for the South Oakland Family YMCA, which uses the former playground during the summer months for its camps. The YMCA could not be immediately reached for comment.
Chris Brocavich, of Town Building Company, told Patch Wednesday he hopes to start construction in 2014.
