Former Royal Oak City Manager Receives 45 Year Award

Thomas Hoover is recognized this week by the International City /County Managers Association.

Coventry Town Manager Thomas Hoover was recognized this week by the International City /County Managers Association at their annual conference in Boston, MA with an award for his 45 years of service in municipal government.

Hoover, who began his career in the City of Toledo, OH as an Engineering Aide, held several Public Works and Public Safety operational positions in that city before becoming City Manager (1990-1993).

Hoover also was City Manager of Worcester, MA (1994-2004) and Royal Oak, MI 
(2004-2009) before becoming Town Manager of Coventry in 2009.

Hoover, who obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 1970 and a Master of Public Administration degree in 1982 - both from the University of Toledo, is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio.

Hoover and his wife Diane reside in the Town of Coventry and have seven grown children and seven grandchildren.
